Health Care Professional (HCP) Symposiums

Upcoming Symposium Events

We are looking forward to HCP Symposiums in:

Calgary - Friday, April 28, 2017 - SOLD OUT!

Vancouver - Friday, May 5, 2017 - register now!

Montreal - Thursday, May 25, 2017 - register now!

HCP symposiums provide the opportunity to network, learn and share knowledge and expertise in the field of brain tumours (neuroscience and neuro-oncology) with a focus on cross-disciplinary learning.

Comments from past symposium participants:

“It was really nice to have the patient view. Please include next time”

“Please continue to offer these symposiums! They are educational and so very interesting”

“I will definitely make certain my patients have information regarding the brain tumour support groups and contacts…I left feeling much more passionate about my role”

“I incorporated information I learned at this education day into my practice already as a CNE! I spoke about brain tumours at our staff recertification and shared information about immunotherapy and cognitive considerations”

“I have been sharing what I learned with my colleagues in our huddles. I actually got the nurses to start giving out the Brain Tumour Handbook to our patients. Before this, I was the only one talking to the patient and family because they felt awkward and afraid to start conversations around the topic. Now they see the value of sharing resources”

“I now have a better understanding of non-malignant tumours and the long-term impact of brain tumours. Will use this information to guide my conversations and treatment planning with patients”

“Thank you for a great information session. It is nice to be able to collaborate and network with other health care professionals from other hospitals.”

"Very good speakers! Thank you so much for organizing this workshop.”

Liz's Story of Giving Back

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 23-29, 2017) we thank all of our 700+ volunteers. Without each contribution, we would not be able to offer the programs, services and events that we do. Each person volunteers in a different way and for different reasons. For Liz, giving back to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada as a volunteer was a “no brainer”. Learn why Liz, a brain tumour survivor, decided to get involved.
