Dr. David MacDonald Biography

Dr. David Macdonald is a medical graduate of the University of Western Ontario (1975). Dr. Macdonald, did an internal medicine internship and one year of residency (equivalent now to PGY-1 and PGY-2) at the Royal Victoria Hospital, McGill University, in Montreal and then completed a neurology residency at UWO (1980). He followed this with a two-year neuro-oncology fellowship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York, New York (1980-1982), followed by a one-year neuro-oncology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco, in San Francisco, California (1982-1983).

Dr Macdonald is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Neurology, and is Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. He has been on staff at London Health Sciences Centre since 1983. He is also currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology and Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences, University of Western Ontario. His clinical and academic interest is neuro-oncology, especially the treatment of primary brain tumors.
