Find a Brain Tumour Support Group

Find a Monthly Support Group in Your Area by clicking on a city to your right >>>

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada Support Groups are a great opportunity for people with a brain tumour and their loved ones to share experiences and gain emotional support in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.

NOTE: If you are not located in or near any of the cities listed to the right, there still may be a Brain Tumour Support Group in your area! Please click here to see a list of independently operated Brain Tumour Support Groups across Canada. As well, you can subscribe to the 'Supporting You' electronic newsletter here.

If you are from the Barrie, Ontario region, your help is needed to bring a brain tumour support group to the community. Click here to learn more!

You are welcome to attend any of these support groups, regardless of where you live.

Groups meet monthly and are open to those 18 years of age or older. Participants are encouraged to share joys, fears, and day-to-day problems in a "What has worked for me" format, rather than an "I think you should" way.

Each person decides whether or not to take part in a discussion and everyone speaks for themselves.

Brain Tumour Support Groups help survivors, family and caregivers through their journey with a brain tumour in a number of ways:

o  Providing connections with others who have faced life with a brain tumour thereby offering reassurance, reducing feelings of isolation and reinforcing a positive, hopeful attitude.

o  Sharing practical information to: help make informed decisions about brain tumour treatment options; to learn about relevant community resources; and enhance coping skills in order to reduce anxiety, feelings of loss of control and fear of the unknown, changes in family roles, and financial strain as a result of a brain tumour diagnosis.

Parent Support Groups
