My name is Paige Dillabough. In January 2003, I was diagnosed with a Medullablastoma-a malignant brain tumour located in the cerebellum area of the brain. I had a 14 hour surgery which resulted in a condition called Cerebella Mutism and Posterior Fossa Syndrome which means that I had to learn to do things all over again. I have had 56 weeks of heavy radiation and chemotherapy and am trying very hard to regain my strength and my ability to walk. I can now talk, eat and use the bathroom on my own but I still cannot walk, run or dance which was my favourite thing to do and the reason that I have sent my dance hat for your display.

My good friend Perry Detlor left us in December 2000. Perry was a great guy, good friend and a funny man. Perry always said "We were a couple of wild and crazy guys!" Perry always placed others before himself. He loved his family so much. His wife, Kerry, daughter, Erin, and sons Jamie and Justin.

Stephanie Dorion had surgery for a Central Neurocytoma on April 4, 2003 when she was 6 weeks pregnant with her son. This was a very scary and worrisome time for all of her loved ones--made worse by the SARS scare. Stephanie wore lots of these hats a friend kindly sewed for her to cover her bald head after surgery. She looked beautiful and continued to improve slowly. Stephanie gave birth to a tiny but healthy baby boy Quinton on October 28, 2003. Aaron, husband and father, has been a great support and strength for their family through all of their struggles. Stephanie has some short-term memory problems but with therapy, she has come a long way. She is a wonderful mother and Quinton has brought love and joy to all of us. We are thankful to all who helped. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is a wonderful source of support--especially our local support group. Thank you.

Marshall Drewnowsky

This is Marshall’s hat. Marshall was diagnosed with a brain tumour in September 2004. When he finishes treatment and is stronger, he plans to return to the arena to watch his 3 sons play hockey.
