Randy Oke
Randy has a love of football and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His greatest joy in life was his work as a Meat Specialist at Price Chopper. Randy±s wishes for donations to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada have been honoured. Always smiling and never complaining, he is lovingly missed by many.

In loving memory of Renée Palmer 1983-2008
Renée was diagnosed in May 2005 with a stage 3 malignant brain tumour µ a mixed oligodendroblastoma close to the pituitary gland that was inoperable. At the time of diagnosis, Renée was in her third year at the University of Guelph studying fine arts/studio arts with a minor in philosophy. Renée was a portrait artist and an extremely talented one at that. She sold her artwork at the farmers market, at City Hall and at the Women±s Art Festival in the park in the summer. Renée came home for her radiation and chemotherapy treatment and returned to her studies part time in September 2006 determined to finish her degree. Her tumour returned in December 2007 and she went back into hospital and January 2008 to have a shunt put in to relieve the mounting pressure. Renée went on life support 5 days after receiving her degree and died on February 2, 2008. Renée was a fighter to the very end. She kept her emotions to herself to spare her family and friends the pain. Renée will always be remembered for the strong person that she was. Renée was an inspiration to all she met. This was a hat that was given to us by a close family friend Jeannette. Renée wore this hat in the hardest times of her treatment in 2005. As far as we were concerned, Renée was an Olympian for the strength that she conveyed. We will remember her forever for the loving daughter that she was and the gifts that she gave us.

 Hannah Chelsea Patterson January 14, 1994 - October 6, 1998
She had a way of smiling that really melts a heart. She is an angel now she was right from the start.

Stewart J. Paulson March 17, 1941 - August 28, 2008
Stew was a salesman by a profession, past-president of a senior men±s hockey team and a Shriner. He enjoyed being a Shrine "Daddy" µ a man who transported crippled and burned children and their caregiver to various Shrine hospitals in return. He expected nothing in return. When he was diagnosed with a primary Malignant Glioblastoma Multiforme, he made every attempt to fight it. He volunteered for a new experimental drug study in hopes to help others in finding a cure for this deadly brain cancer. In January 2008, when he was taken out of the program, he was devastated, partly because the cancer was advancing, but mostly because he would no longer be able to help those who "down the pipe." Stew was together with his wife Colleen for almost 30 years. He also leaves behind his sister, Shanyn, her son, Norman, sister-in-law, Gerry, her son, David, two sons and a wealth of friends. He was a man you could rely on; a person to draw strength from. I believe that his cancer did not take the best of him because it lives in the rest of us. µ David Schmidt.

Robbie Pawlinsky was diagnosed with an Olio brain tumour on September 14, 1999. She has had two surgeries in Victoria and two in London, ON to get rid of her seizures. Then she began chemo for seven times and then radiation for five weeks in the summer of 2001. Robbie is very happy that she can drive her red Blazer again and get where she wants to be. Robbie volunteers at the Vancouver Island Cancer Centre on Thursday afternoons in Pebbles Gift Shop. She has also been the chairperson for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada Spring Sprint in 2003 and 2004. Robbie has just celebrated her 5 year anniversary and is hoping she goes for at least 20 more!

Michael John Peace December 9, 1953 - October 6, 2000. A tribute from everyone RCR±s, 403 Squadron and family. Pro Patria.

Aidan Peterson
Aidan…you±re awesome!

Mackenzie Popoff was a 12 year old girl with her whole life ahead of her until Dec. 4, 2006. Kenzie was diagnosed with an inoperable Medulloblastoma brain tumour. Mackenzie loved life. She Ukrainian danced, played the saxophone, loved horses, drama, was an incredible daughter, sister and best friend. People were drawn to her kind heart, sense of humour and her contagious smile. Mackenzie lived 10 months after being diagnosed. She made every day count. She took on the challenge with great determination. She believed in hope and encouraged everyone around her. She was our rock. We called her ³one tough cookie.´ Sadly, on October 4, 2007, exactly ten months to the day she was diagnosed, she passed away with her family by her side. Mackenzie inspired her family, friends and the whole community. We are blessed to have such a precious angel by our side. She is deeply missed and in our hearts forever.

Charlie Prongua
I am a 51 year old husband and father of three. I was diagnosed with an Oligodendroglioma brain tumour in October of 2001. Soon after being diagnosed, I underwent surgery which was followed with radiation and chemotherapy treatments. I have since returned to my job as a cattle buyer and have been enjoying golfing and curling in my spare time. This hat was worn during the year of treatment.
