2007 London Info Day Doctor Panel
Info Day Brings Hope to Hundreds of Patients Across Canada in 2007
Over 650 participants attended Information Day Conferences in Calgary, London, and Halifax for three days of hope and support. These conferences provided a chance for patients and families to meet and to talk about their situation with each other and with top specialists from across the country. Being able to meet face-to-face is an important component in promoting understanding and care.
Information Days additionally give patients access to information on the newest developments in treatment. For Canada’s top brain tumour researchers, specialists and physicians, they receive an opportunity to share the future of research and leading-edge treatment with patients and other healthcare professionals. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada also announced information on six new research grants awarded across the country this year as part of their commitment to the search for a cure for this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is proud to have its three founders – Dr. Rolando Del Maestro, Pamela Del Maestro and Steve Northey – not only attending all the conferences but very active in participating in various lectures and workshops. Dr. Del Maestro, Director of the Brain Tumour Research Centre and professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, served as keynote speaker at all three events.
In addition to the incredible talents and contributions by researchers, doctors, nurses, caregivers and others who presented their knowledge, Jane Hauser, Support Services Consultant and longstanding volunteer with Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, must be cited for her outstanding work. Information Days in 2007 would not have been an incredible success were it not for her amazing dedication and organizational abilities. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada would also like to thank its national sponsors, Neurobiological Technologies and Schering-Plough, for their ongoing support.
The schedule of conferences for 2008 promises new and exciting improvements to help patients, families and caregivers share in these great opportunities. We look forward to seeing you then!
