Your Brain Tumour Community Created Even More Hope Through Spring Sprint 2010!

In 21 cities across Canada this spring, more than 4,400 people came out to Walk, Run or Sprint in all kinds of weather to celebrate life and pay tribute to those who have been affected by a brain tumour. Generosity from people like you helped raise funds through every step to advance research while providing vital information and support to Canadians battling this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is proud to announce that even more people have joined the fight in 2010 and helped surpass the goal to raise $1,355,000.
This could not have been done without you.

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is proud to announce the official total raised by everyone involved in 2010’s Spring Sprint is $1,417,238! Thank you to everyone across the country who dedicated their efforts to help Imagine a Cure.

Thank you to our National Sponsors:
Deloitte, Merck, Roche, WestJet, Critical Control, IMRIS, and Astra Zeneca.

Spring Sprint reached far and wide across Canada:
• 4,447 people walked or ran an average of 3 km each, which totals 13,341 kms – or the equivalent of walking from Halifax to Victoria through Canada and back!
• 451 teams participated in Spring Sprint this year as a fun way to raise money and enjoy time with family, friends and co-workers.
• Nearly 400 volunteers from across the country were involved in running 21 Spring Sprint events. Thank you especially to the Spring Sprint coordinators and their organizing committees who gave so generously of their time and expertise to ensure every Spring Sprint ran smoothly!
• 72.3% of funds raised are directed to programs and services, another 24.3% goes to support development and fundraising activities, and only 3.4% goes to administration costs.
• From the funds directed to programs and services for patients and their families, 29% provides support services, 22% provides education and awareness, 19% provides information services, and 30% goes directly to fund research grants.

To view totals for each individual city, please click here to visit our Spring Sprint site. We are continually adding event photos to our online galleries, so keep checking back to www.springsprint.ca to find friends and others from your local event.
