Vancouver - Friday, June 7, 2019

Halifax - Wednesday, October 30, 2019 - RSVP Today!

HCP symposiums bring you the latest updates in brain tumour treatments, patient care and research. In addition, these events provide health care professionals cross-disciplinary opportunities to network, learn, and share knowledge with peers.

Comments from past symposium participants:

“It was really nice to have the patient view. Please include next time”

“Please continue to offer these symposiums! They are educational and so very interesting”

“I will definitely make certain my patients have information regarding the brain tumour support groups and contacts…I left feeling much more passionate about my role”

“I incorporated information I learned at this education day into my practice already as a CNE! I spoke about brain tumours at our staff recertification and shared information about immunotherapy and cognitive considerations”

“I have been sharing what I learned with my colleagues in our huddles. I actually got the nurses to start giving out the Brain Tumour Handbook to our patients. Before this, I was the only one talking to the patient and family because they felt awkward and afraid to start conversations around the topic. Now they see the value of sharing resources”

“I now have a better understanding of non-malignant tumours and the long-term impact of brain tumours. Will use this information to guide my conversations and treatment planning with patients”

“Thank you for a great information session. It is nice to be able to collaborate and network with other health care professionals from other hospitals.”

"Very good speakers! Thank you so much for organizing this workshop.”

Featured Story

Youth Education Award recipient update

This my update since completing University: Since being diagnosed with a brain tumour, life has not been easy for me; University was no exception. I had my fair share of struggles during my time in school. I failed some and struggled in most classes, but overall, I had a great experience. I found myself taking on a new set of challenges, and changing my original plan of majoring in psychology, to double majoring in psychology and gerontology with a minor in French.
