An avid cyclist and downhill skier, my husband Chris delighted in hoping on his bicycle and cycling hundreds of kilometers each season. Once the snow fell, he strapped on his skis and hit the slopes. After Chris was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme in late December 1996, he was unable to ski or cycle. As his disease progressed, even walking became increasingly difficult. But grit and resolve prevailed and several months before his death, he managed to get on his beloved bike once again and cycle a few blocks. It wasn't easy for him, but his sheer determination brought success and satisfaction. Chris spent many happy hours wearing this helmet.
