Senior Specialist for Major and Legacy Gifts

The Organization:

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching every Canadian affected by a brain tumour through advocacy, research, information, support, and education.

The Role:

The organization is seeking an experienced and ambitious fund development professional. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will have primary accountability for all aspects of the Foundation’s Major and Legacy Giving Programs.

Your Responsibilities:

You will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and implement strategies designed to enhance continued and increased contributions to BTFC in major and legacy gift capacity
  • Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and nurturing sustainable long-term relationships, with existing and new individual donors, that will result in a high level of philanthropic support for Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada
  • Responsible for maintaining a major gift pipeline and identifying possibilities for increased engagement through moves management principles
  • Personally manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects for personal cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • Ensure contributions are appropriately recognized and assist in the coordination of stewardship materials with major donors regarding the impact of their giving
  • Act as an ambassador for BTFC Foundation in the community and at major donor, networking or other events as needed

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years experience in fund development, with a focus on major and legacy giving
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing client management database platforms, including Blackbaud or Donor Perfect products
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive and enthusiastic demeanor is a must
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Must be available to travel and work weekends and evenings (as needed)
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check required
  • Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required
  • Preference for candidates in the London, Ontario area, based on a hybrid work environment. Consideration will be given for remote work for qualified candidates who live elsewhere.
