On September 21, 2024, the 5th Annual DUNN with Cancer run will take place at Springbank Park in London, ON, in memory of Allison, and for every person who has been or will be impacted by glioblastoma.

The DUNN with Cancer Research Fund was established in 2020 in memory of Allison Dunn, a young mother of three who dedicated her life to helping those less fortunate in her community through her work in the Not For Profit sector and her volunteer work.

Allison was diagnosed with glioblastoma on February 18, 2020 at the age of 33. The diagnosis was unexpected – one week she was out hiking with her children, to the next week she was told she had an inoperable tumour in her brain that results in an average life expectancy of 18 months. After chemotherapy and radiation treatment had minimal impacts, Allison passed away peacefully on June 17, 2020, 4 months less a day after the tumour was discovered.

Determined to fund research and foster innovation, Allison’s family started the DUNN with Cancer run in 2020. In the first four years this event has raised $900,000. The funds raised so far have sponsored three Fellowships and seven research grants. While this is a fantastic start, we know more needs to be done to support glioblastoma research.

The Movement of Hope that started four years ago continues in 2024. Join us on September 21, 2024 for the 5th Annual DUNN with Cancer run at Springbank Park in London, ON. Together, we run for each person who has been or will be impacted by glioblastoma. We run to raise money to find more innovative concepts that will change the future for others affected by this devastating disease. And we run for Allison.
