Impact of receiving this award:
I am truly honoured to be the 2025 recipient of the Trevor Harrison Civic Engagement Scholarship. This recognition is especially meaningful to me because my mother is a brain tumour survivor, and I was raised by my father. These experiences shaped my early interest in law and public policy and opened my eyes to gaps in the systems meant to support families and communities.
Receiving a scholarship that honours Trevor Harrison’s legacy of civic engagement reinforces my commitment to thoughtful, purposeful participation in public life. This scholarship supports my studies in Politics at Queen’s University and my goal of pursuing law school. It allows me to focus on academic growth while remaining actively involved in civic and community initiatives that strengthen public systems and advance meaningful policy reform.
I am deeply grateful to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and the Harrison Family for this recognition and for their ongoing support of students dedicated to civic engagement.
