First introduced to the world as the young boy who celebrated Christmas in October 2015, Evan Leversage’s story has since been shared across the globe. It was at that time the world learned of Evan’s mom’s promise to her dying son: To help put an end to brain cancer so no other child goes through what he did.
Since then, over $50,000 has been raised in support of this extraordinary promise. “Evan’s fight wasn’t, and will not be, in vain,” says Nicole. “I don’t even know how I could possibly thank everyone who’s been part of Evan’s Legacy so far. While my heart is broken, it’s slowly being mended by the outpouring of love and support we’ve received.”
With the family’s blessing, the funds raised by Evan’s Legacy, are being directed to research into pediatric brain cancer. This project is led by Dr. Michael Taylor and his team at SickKids (Toronto, ON) as they continue their ground-breaking childhood brain cancer research originally funded through a 2014 grant with Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.Learn more about Dr. Taylor’s current research.
