Impact of receiving this award:

Having overcome a cancer diagnosis at a young age, this award has a profound significance for me. It serves as a reminder that this illness does not define my identity, unlike I so often feel. It pushes me to continue going even when I feel at my lowest for if I can make it this far to achieve this special award, I can do anything else I set out to. The award not only strengthens my confidence and gratitude for my upcoming university years but also shows those around me that I am a survivor and a fighter and will continue to be both in the post-secondary years to come. Most of all, receiving the award reminded me that I am a resilient individual who will continue to face life’s challenges head-on with determination.
