Pursuing a Major in Environmental Design at University of British Columbia

Generously funded by Bruce Power
“Receiving this award is a huge honour. I am extremely grateful to be your choice as a recipient. Living with brain cancer has made life, especially keeping up with school very difficult. Receiving this award will go a long way towards achieving a huge goal of mine to attend university.
This fall I begin my studies at the University of British Columbia, which I am very excited about for two reasons 1) to be in beautiful Vancouver and 2) to focus on studying sustainable building practices as I major in Environmental Design. None of this would have been possible without the financial support of this award.
I extend a special thank you to Bruce Power, the donor who generously funded this award. I cannot help but notice how their corporate commitments to the environment align with my go forward career values. Once again I just want to thank everyone involved in making this scholarship possible and choosing me as a recipient.”
UPDATE MAY 2020
In September I entered my first year at the University of British Columbia. Although the move from Ontario to British Columbia was a scary adjustment, it was truly an amazing, life changing experience.I was able to grow and mature, as well as further develop and exile my mind. I learned so much in such a short period of time, and my love for architecture and the environment grew, and the combination of these two fields continues to be what I desire to study as I continue on in my university journey.
I was also extremely blessed enough to have the opportunity to meet amazing people from all over the world, and create and develop some amazing friendships.
My first year of university was probably one of the best school years of my life. All these amazing opportunities would not have been possible without Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada’s scholarship. So I want to extend my absolute gratitude to all those who made this scholarship possible.
I am truly thankful. Thanks again
