Advancing glioblastoma research in 2026
Every breakthrough begins with a question.
What if we could better understand how glioblastoma grows? What if we could improve the way treatments are delivered? What if today’s discoveries could lead to better outcomes for future patients?
This July, as we recognize Glioblastoma Awareness Day on July 17, we’re celebrating six researchers whose innovative projects are helping move us closer to those answers.
Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is proud to support these six exceptional researchers this year, through studentships, fellowships and the Allison Dunn Elevation Grants in GBM Research. Together, their work represents the curiosity, collaboration and determination driving progress against one of the most challenging forms of brain cancer.
Our 2026 glioblastoma research recipients are:

Each of these researchers is pursuing a unique approach to better understanding, diagnosing or treating glioblastoma. While their projects differ, they share a common goal: improving the lives of people affected by this devastating disease and creating hope for the future.
Research like this is only possible because of the generosity of our donors and funding partners. We are especially grateful to the DUNN with Cancer community for making the Allison Dunn Elevation Grants in GBM Research and 2026 fellowship possible. By investing in innovative research, they are helping accelerate discoveries while honouring Allison Dunn’s legacy and bringing new hope to patients and families facing glioblastoma.
Glioblastoma Awareness Day is an opportunity to recognize the strength of everyone affected by this disease while highlighting the importance of continued investment in research. Every funded project brings us one step closer to new discoveries, new possibilities and, ultimately, better outcomes for those diagnosed with glioblastoma.
We invite you to learn more about each of our 2026 research recipients and the innovative work they are leading to shape the future of glioblastoma research.
