UPDATE (Wednesday, April 1, 2020):

In keeping with federal and provincial health regulations to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and to protect our community and ourselves, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is cancelling all in-person support groups and BrainWAVE/GOcervo events from now until June 30. This is a temporary measure aimed at reducing the risk of transmission to our most vulnerable population, our staff, and our volunteers.

Support is at the heart of what we do, which is why we have been working diligently to develop and expand our virtual programs with our newest initiative, #SupportAtHome.

Our goal is to bring our support services directly into your home, as well as our pediatric BrainWAVE and GOcervo programs. More virtual programming means even in these trying times, no one affected by a brain tumour will walk alone.

More information will soon be available at www.braintumour.ca/supportathome, and on our facebook page (En/Fr).

In the meantime, our staff will continue working remotely until further notice, though our office will still be receiving mail and packages. We ask that all other communications be done through telephone or electronically.

As the situation continues to evolve, we will be regularly updating our website, and ask you check back in frequently to stay up to date. For more information on COVID-19 and how to keep yourself and your families safe, visit the Public Health Agency of Canada website.

Our next step to #EndBrainTumours together.

There has been so much change for us all these last weeks in light of COVID-19, and with that change comes a flood of uncertainty.

What we do know is this very hour someone, somewhere in Canada will still hear the words, “you have a brain tumour”.

We also know it is because of your participation and fundraising in our annual Brain Tumour Walk program that Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada can provide help and bring hope.

In these uncertain times , the need for your support and participation in our 2020 Brain Tumour Walk program is greater than ever! Despite challenges beyond our control, we have seized the opportunity to create something truly special.

We have put our heads together and have reimagined our current walk program, transforming it into a national, virtual program for all 2020 Brain Tumour Walk events.

While we are still working out the finer details, we can tell you that we will still come together to support, celebrate and remember. The only difference is a change of scenery. Come 2021, we can look forward to walking side by side once again.

Our community is strong and our spirits resilient. We can do this!

Please keep registering and fundraising, stay connected and be part of our next steps to #EndBrainTumours using #VirtualBrainTumourWalk always remembering #YouAreNotAlone.
